PELATIHAN BUDIDAYA IKAN KAKAP PUTIH DI KABUPATEN KARAWANG
Abstract
Several marine fish commodities have high economic value and have been successfully cultivated in the community. In addition, marine fish seed production techniques have been successfully carried out on a large scale, especially grouper (Epinephelus sp), white snapper (Lates calcarifer), star pomfret (Trachinotus sp), Cobia fish and red snapper (Lutjanus sp). The selection of commodities to be developed as aquaculture commodities is carried out based on the economic value of fish and the ability of fish to adapt to the environment, including tolerance to low salinity. The marine fish commodity that has the potential to be developed in fresh water is white snapper. Through this community service activity on barramundi cultivation, it is hoped that an alternative freshwater aquaculture has high economic value and can be widely applied by the freshwater cultivating community. The specific purpose of this community service activity is to foster good relations with the community who are fostered by getting to know the region, community leaders; Organizing the potential that exists in the community to plan and implement problem solving actions; Cooperating with farmers in providing support for solving problems that are currently and will be faced; Evaluate every activity and achievement of white snapper cultivation goals in the community; Documenting community service activities correctly and appropriately. Several things can be concluded from the results of Community Service activities, as follows: Community understanding of barramundi cultivation as an alternative commodity that can be cultivated in fresh water; Community understanding of the importance and how to maintain snapper white according to the rules of Good Fish Cultivation (CBIB) can be increased by carrying out this activity; and Community interest related to aquaculture activities can be increased by cultivating white snapper in fresh water.
