Abstract


This service is a Community Partnership Program that aims to help solve feed problems in aquaculture businesses. The solution offered is to use manure from goat droppings to grow Azolla microphylla as natural feed for tilapia. This service was carried out in one of the members of the Agung Tuk Sari Farmer Group, namely at the Opo Farm owned by Mr. S. Galuh, PDH, S.H. This activity was carried out for 3 weeks starting from August 29 – September 19, 2019. This activity includes five stages, namely 1) the stage of implementing solutions to partner problems including requesting permission to the Chairperson of the Agung Tuk Sari Gapoktan, surveying the location of service, preparation of tools and materials, planting Azolla microphylla seedlings, socialization to partners, and controlling the growth of Azolla microphylla; 2) approach; 3) partner participation; 4) evaluation of program implementation and program sustainability; and 5) final report preparation. This service is carried out by a team of lecturers and students. The head of this service is Annisa Novita Sari, S.Pi., M. Si (Aquaculture lecturer), consisting of Ayu Rahayu, S.Pt., M.Sc. (Lecturer of Animal Husbandry) and Eko Juliyanto, S.Si., M. Si (lecturer of science) along with several students from the aquaculture and animal husbandry study program. The result of this community service activity was that the community gets an overview of alternative types of natural feed that can help aquaculture activities in the communities. The growth of Azolla microphylla is highly dependent on the nutrient content in the growing media. With the addition of goat manure in Azolla microphylla growing media, it can accelerate the growth of Azolla microphylla itself due to the nutrient content in goat manure. The growth of Azolla microphylla increased by 150% within 7 days or increased by 21.4% per day. The conclusion is that this service activity can provide solutions to fish farming business actors in solving feed problems, namely by using Azolla microphylla which is grown using manure from goat manure.
