Abstract
A fire in the insulation layer of the cable is the result of the electrical installation cable being used that does not meet the standard. heat losses in the conductor over a long time will accumulate and cause brittleness in the insulation. Damage to the insulation resistance can cause leakage of electric current. On the other hand, the increased losses in the conductor are triggered by the long duration of the use of electric tools, if this continues, there is another possibility that it will be able to pass the nominal current to the strong current conducting. From the test results of the isolation level of residential electrical installations with installed power of 450 VA and 900 VA, the resistance value is obtained which is still in accordance with the SNI 0225: 2011 standard. The electrical installation is still said to be suitable for use, although the addition of an installation cable that does not comply with the standard is not recommended.
