Abstract

Flood is a natural phenomenon that happened when the drainage system is unable to accommodate the rainwater, so that its exceeds the capacity of the drainage system that can be caused by nature and humans. This case study was conducted at Tidar University, addressed at Jl. Captain Suparman 39 Potrobangsan, North Magelang, Central Java.

The data used for the calculation are the rainfall data and field measurement data. The stages in the research are measuring the dimensions and slope of the drainage channel, calculating the average rainfall, hydrological analysis, calculating the capacity of the drainage channel, calculating the rainwater discharge using the rational method and the manning formula, comparing the channel capacity with the rainwater discharge and calculating drainage channel repairs. .

The designed rainfall for 2, 5, and 10 years are 92,1086 mm, 100,8324 mm, and 105,7304 mm, the return period used is  2 years return period, while the designed discharge for the example of A-B channels is 0.378 m3. /second. The dimensions of the channel change are with a height (h) = 50 cm, a base width (b) = 40 cm and a guard height (w) = 5 cm, a rectangular cross-section.
