Abstract

PDAM spends the largest electricity costs on the pumping system as its production system. The use of electrical energy to drive pumps reaches 50% - 80% of the total electrical energy used by PDAMs, the rest is used for office operations and lighting, it is estimated that it is not suitable for the measurement of energy consumption of the PDAM's overall electricity consumption due to the addition of production capacity, wear on the pumps and inefficient use of energy. Evaluation for this problem by conducting an energy audit referring to ISO 50002, This study discusses an energy audit regarding evaluation to identify the current condition/status of the pump system performance and determine the potential for saving electrical energy. total energy consumption, so that it can recommend electrical energy saving programs for future projections. This research resulted in an electrical energy saving program by installing a capacitor bank with an individual compensation method on the load as a power factor improvement. The capacitor bank installation in this study requires a total capacitor power of 5.57 kVar which is expected to reach a cos phi value of 0.91. the installation of a capacitor bank is able to reduce the annual cost of Rp. 2,694,976 with a total installation cost of Rp. 2.203.200  and BEP total will be taken for 9 month.
