Abstract

Utilization of bamboo that has developed is a bamboo lamination technique, one of which is petung bamboo (Dendrocalamus Asper) and apus (Gigantochloa Apus). This study aims to determine the flexural strength of bamboo laminate with a cold press of 5 tons, by joining the segments using epoxy wood glue.

Lamination method with the arrangement of 3 variations, namely, 50% bamboo apus and 50% bamboo petung, 60% bamboo apus and 40% bamboo petung, 70% bamboo apus and 30% bamboo petung. The test analyzes the moisture content, density and determines the variation of the greater strength of the laminate on the flexural behavior. This study refers to the standard SNI 03-3959-1995 with dimensions of 5 cm x 5 cm x 76 cm, using bamboo with 3-4 years of age obtained and made in Sleman, Yogyakarta. The test was carried out at the Structural Laboratory, Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Tidar University, Magelang. The glue used is epoxy wood glue.

The results of the reinforcement test using apus and petung bamboo variations affect the flexural strength and compressive strength of laminated beams. The highest average MOE values of laminated beams A, B, C were 6097.232 MPa, 5821.396 MPa, 5760.64 MPa, respectively. The average value of the MOR of laminated beams A, B, C is 96.684 MPa, 88.346 MPa, and 83.67 MPa, respectively.
