Abstract


One type of fish that has become an icon of Kuningan Regency is the Dewa Fish (Tor douronensis). The names that are carried by these freshwater fish are indeed diverse. In Central and East Java, it is known as Tombro fish, in southern Sumatra it is called Semah fish, in West Java it is called Kancra fish. This fish is a source of regional economy through ecotourism activities. In addition, the living habitat in the highlands causes the existence of this fish to be increasingly limited so that it needs to be preserved. However, based on information from the community, there were quite a lot of deaths in a short time in one of the waters in the Manis Kidul Village area, so it is necessary to research the cause of the death of the Dewa fish. The research method uses field observations (on-site), literature studies and laboratory examination. Identification was also carried out on the characteristics and physiological parameters of fish, water quality and the possibility of pathogen infiltration. The results showed that the water quality at the time the research team visited was still within the range of water quality standards for water column. Meanwhile, the results of laboratory tests contained Aeromonas salmonicida bacteria. It belongs to the Group II quarantine fish disease group in Republic of Indonesia.
