Abstract


The study of language related to society is an interesting study. This study is called Sociolinguistics. The materials of Sociolinguistics are code-mixing and code-switching. They can be applied in Padang Bulan by Andrea Hirata. There are two discussions in this study namely code-mixing and code-switching. There were 61 excerpts of code-mixing and 7 excerpts of code-switching. Furthermore, there was Islamic value described in that society.
